The Ugandan government through the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development has organized the Uganda Real Estate and Housing Expo (UREHE) 2026, set to take place from September 25th to 26th, 2026, at Kingdom Kampala Gardens.
In a statement released by the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Persis Namuganza on September 17th, 2026, the significant event aims to tackle the pressing housing challenges faced by the nation by bringing together key stakeholders in the housing sector to collaborate on innovative solutions for affordable housing.
The primary purpose of UREHE 2026 is to serve as Uganda’s leading platform for discussions related to real estate and housing.
The expo will unite a diverse group of participants, including individuals and organizations looking to fund housing projects, professionals involved in constructing residential and commercial properties.
The minister also highlighted entities providing loans and financing options for housing, officials responsible for housing policies, urban development experts in development design and construction and Individuals seeking affordable housing solutions.
Namuganza stated that by fostering dialogue among these stakeholders, the expo aims to explore effective strategies for delivering affordable housing, particularly for low-income families.
The minister highlighted several key objectives for UREHE 2026 among these include, affordable housing, to assist housing partners in learning how to provide fair and affordable housing options for low-income families. To present new ideas and designs for housing, emphasizing better construction methods, and to facilitate conversations about current trends in the housing market and identify successful practices.
The statement further noted that it will develop strategies for reducing the cost and time associated with building homes, ensuring faster delivery through partnerships and encouraging collaborations between private companies and other stakeholders to enhance housing development.
It will further strengthen regulations that will support and enforce regulations that promote safer and more sustainable building practices.
According to the minister, this expo is a critical opportunity for us to come together and tackle the housing crisis in Uganda. By uniting investors, developers, and ordinary citizens, we can create innovative solutions that make housing accessible for all.
The UREHE 2026 expo promises to provide a vital space for stakeholders to engage, learn, and collaborate on the future of housing in Uganda, addressing the urgent need for affordable housing solutions in the country.
