The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has encouraged the Muslim fraternity to continue with the spirit of togetherness, unity, and charity exhibited during the holy month of Ramadan.

This was stated during the party’s weekly press release, which took place on April 3, 2024, at the party headquarters in Uganda House.

The party spokesperson, Sharon Oyat Arach, congratulated the Islamic community, which is about to complete the holy month of Ramadan.

“As we come to the conclusion of Ramadan, we encourage the Muslim fraternity to continue with the spirit of togetherness, unity, and charity that you have already shown during this fasting period,” she said.

She also called on those who were able to reach out to their underprivileged brothers and sisters.

“We have seen several organizations come out to offer Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) to our Muslim brothers and sisters during the Ramadan month, but we urge them to continue after Eid and continue helping one another,” she added.

Ramadan began on Monday, March 11, 2024, and is set to end with Eid ul Fitr celebrations, depending on the sighting of the moon.
