The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has organized Energy and Minerals Week 2024, which aims at providing information, creating awareness, providing a platform for issue-based dialogue and engagement, and providing a platform for promoting the efficient and rational utilization of energy and mineral resources.
Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentaamu, the Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, made these remarks on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Uganda Media Centre during a media briefing for the energy and minerals week 2024.
She said that the energy and mineral week is an awareness-centered week that is organized as part of the ministry campaigns to encourage the sustainable utilization of energy and minerals in the country, and it has been held annually for the past 19 years (since 2005).

According to Nankabirwa, the energy and mineral week is encompassed with a series of activities, including the Energy and Minerals Exhibition 2024, which will be held at the Railway grounds in Kampala from October 28th to November 2nd 2024.
“It is aimed at providing a platform to the business community to showcase the technologies, products, and services within the Energy, Minerals, and Petroleum sectors to the general public,” she said.

Other activities include the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Mobility Conference 2024, scheduled to take place from October 28-29, 2024, at CEDAT, and it will be the 3rd edition.
“The Power Forum 2024 will take place on October 30th at Mestil Hotel-Nsambya and the Renewable Energy Conference 2024 and Expo (REC24 & Expo), which will take place from October 31st to November 2nd 2024 at Speke Resort Munyonyo,” Nankabirwa added.
Energy and Minerals Week 2024 is scheduled to take place from October 28th to November 2nd 2024, under the theme Energy and Minerals for Sustainable Growth. The event is in partnership with the organizations.
