Trailer Truck Catches Fire on Clock Tower Flyover in Kampala

A trailer truck belonging to Iron Air Force Company has burst into flames after overheating at the Clock Tower Flyover in Katwe, Kampala

The truck, under registration number UBG 431P / UBG 168P driven bwas transporting empty boxes from Mukono to Entebbe when the incident occurred at about 09:40 hours on the morning of Thursday, 20th November, 2025.

The driver, Okada Paul Gabriel reported that the vehicle had been overheating before it ignited.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Services team from the Fire Brigade Headquarters promptly responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, preventing further damage and ensuring public safety.

“The cause of the fire is yet to be established, and investigations are ongoing,” ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Fire Prevention and Rescue Services team said.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and have urged drivers to ensure their vehicles are properly maintained to prevent similar incidents.

No casualties were reported, and the road has since been cleared for traffic. Further updates will be provided as police conclude their investigation.
