President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed John Chrysostom Muyingo as the Acting Minister of Education and Sports.
The announcement was made in a press release issued by the State House Presidential Press Unit (PPU) on Thursday, June 25th, 2026. The appointment comes in the absence of a substantive minister and takes immediate effect.
In the official communication, the Presidency cited the constitutional authority under which the appointment was made, emphasizing the need to ensure continuity in the leadership of the ministry.
“In exercise of the powers vested in the President by Article 99 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Hon. John Chrysostom Muyingo as the Acting Minister of Education and Sports in the absence of a substantive Minister,” the release read in part.
According to the Presidency, the appointment takes immediate effect.
