The 1st East African Disability Inclusive Higher Education Conference is the first of its kind that focused at advocating for higher studies of PWDs in East Africa. The conference was also meant to formulate recommendations and policies to better the lives of PWDs with the involvement of all stakeholders.

The two-day conference themed University of All and For All will took place on November 13-14, 2024, at Kyambogo University in a bid to share information on how PWDs can be enrolled in higher education.

The 1st East African Conference on Disability Inclusive Higher Education is slated for November 13-14, 2024, at Kyambogo University, with the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, expected as the chief guest.

The Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations for 2024 started on November 11, 2024, and will end on December 7, 2024. According to Dan Odongo, the UNEB Executive Secretary, 1,320,400 candidates have registered for the exams, a 7.8% increase from 2023.

The situation regarding school dropouts in Buvuma Islands underscores a critical intersection of parental responsibility, community engagement, and educational accessibility. As highlighted by local leaders, the alarming trend of children abandoning their education for immediate economic pursuits not only jeopardizes their futures but also poses broader societal risks, including increased crime and social instability.

The graduates pledged to serve with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to positively contribute to Uganda’s health sector, ready to face the challenges ahead with integrity and professionalism.
