Government forensic DNA results have confirmed that only four of the 25 individuals who claimed to be biological children of the late Kadongo Kamu music icon Paul Job Kafeero are genetically related to him.
The findings were released by the Police Forensic Directorate at Police Headquarters in Naguru following a comprehensive DNA verification exercise aimed at resolving long-standing paternity claims surrounding the late singer’s estate and family lineage.
According to the results, the four individuals confirmed as biological children of Paul Kafeero are Benedicto Kafeero, Simon Peter Kafeero, Thomas Swaz Kafeero, and Elizabeth Nagawa.
The DNA testing process was conducted by government forensic experts and overseen by Minister Balaam Barugahara. Also present during the release of the results were the Police Forensic Directorate and the Government Analytical Laboratory, including Director Andrew Mubiru and Kepher Kuchana Kateu.
The outcome brings clarity to years of uncertainty and competing claims regarding Kafeero’s descendants. Family members, stakeholders, and fans of the late musician have closely followed the process, which was intended to establish the rightful biological heirs of one of Uganda’s most influential traditional music stars.
Paul Job Kafeero remains one of Uganda’s most celebrated Kadongo Kamu artists, remembered for his enduring contribution to the country’s music industry and cultural heritage.
