St. Paul Nasuti SS Temporarily Suspends Operation After Fire Incidence

St. Paul Nasuti Secondary School in Iganga district has temporarily suspended operation following a fire incident that gutted the girls’ dormitory on July 27, 2023.

Joanathan Kiiya, the school headmaster, said the decision to close operations for three days was sanctioned by the top management to allow police investigations without disruption.

“Management is also looking for ways of helping the affected students, especially those in candidate classes of senior six and four, and it is noted that members of the local community have started responding to the girls’ plight with bedding and scholastic materials,” Kiiya said.

Kiiya stated that the school administration and well-wishers are assisting the afflicted students in having their bedding and scholastic materials replaced, and Kigulu College has offered to print notes in every subject to be distributed to the affected pupils.

Diana Nandaula, the Busoga East regional police spokeswoman, said investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire are underway.
