President Nyusi welcomes President Ruto to Mozambique for Bilateral Talks

President Philip Nyusi has welcomed President William Samoei Ruto in Mozambique, the head of the diplomatic mission for a two-day visit starting on August 10, 2023.

In a press release, Hussein Mohammed, a Spokesperson for the Kenya State House, noted that President Ruto will stay to discuss and sign the eight cooperation agreements.

The discussions among the two presidents will rotate around several key areas, including the blue economy and fisheries, trade, defence, agriculture, energy, transport, and capacity building, according to Mohammed.

President Ruto was welcomed to Maputo by Verónica Nataniel Macamo Dlhovo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique.

Ruto’s visit will enhance cooperation along the Indian Swahili coast and strengthen the collaborative efforts between the two countries.

According to the press statement, the visit will mark the launch of the Kenya-Mozambique joint trade committee, which will explore mutual economic and social opportunities.
