Authorities in Nansana are investigating the mysterious death of a 40-year-old doctor, Safina Nabitaka, who was found dead in her clinic in Ganda, Nabweru Sub- County, Wakiso District.
Nabitaka’s body was discovered on April 9, 2025, after neighbors became concerned when her clinic, which she usually opens early remained closed until midday.
According to her neighbors, Nabitaka was last seen in the evening on April 8 2025 near her clinic chatting with a few locals happily and afterwards she headed back inside her clinic.
During an interview one local identified as Miichael Sekidde revealed that Nabitaka usually opens up her clinic by 8:00 am, so when they saw her clinic still closed up to midday, they decided to check break into it however they did not do it because they found the front door of the clinic not locked and they decided to enter.
Sekidde said that they found Nabitaka lying motionless on the floor and they decided to inform their defense secretary.
’’There were no visible signs of violence or blood, suggesting she may have died of natural causes or possibly at the hands of someone she knew,’’ Sekidde stated.
The area defense secretary, Christopher Muyimbwa, confirmed that Nabitaka’s body was discovered around midday by neighbors who quickly alerted him.
“Her body had no visible injuries, and there was no sign of a struggle. The cause of death is unclear, and investigations are ongoing,” Muyimbwa stated.
Authorities have since been informed, and police have launched an investigation.
Muyimbwa has called on the public to come forward with any information that could help shed light on Nabitaka’s final hours.
