Michelle Trachtenberg, a renowned actress known for her roles in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Gossip Girl,” has passed away at the age of 39.
Police in Manhattan said they responded to an emergency call on Wednesday morning, and found Trachtenberg “unconscious and unresponsive.”
Trachtenberg began her acting career as a child star, making her debut on Nickelodeon’s “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” and later starring in the 1996 film “Harriet the Spy,” which marked a significant milestone in her career.
She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Dawn Summers, the younger sister of Buffy, in the hit series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” from 2000 to 2003. she also played the role of Georgina Sparks in “Gossip Girl” from 2008 to 2012
In the recent months, Trachtenberg had been dealing with health issues. According to reports, she had undergone a liver transplant, which may have been related to complications from alcohol use.
