WHAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT MPS SSEGIRINYA AND NAMBOOZE’S HEALTH

A number of people have been in limbo and questioning the health status of MPs Muhammad Ssegirinya for Kawempe North and Betty Nambooze for Mukono Municipality as most of the time, they would appear in the media as not being in good health. They would either appear while on hospital beds or limping.

However, on June 3, 2023, the two legislatures managed to pave their way to Namugongo Catholic Martyrs Shrine for a mass in commemoration of the Uganda Martyrs.

Ssegirinya was an attraction to most of the people who accessed the section where he was seated, as he looked healthier than what was being said about his worrying health.

Clad in a blue suit and red neck tie, Ssegirinya was over joyed and while talking to several people, he said that he had come to worship God and thank Him for the gift of life.

He said, “Although Parliament organized for us a Parliamentary bus, I decided to walk from Kawempe to Namugongo.”

This was a good gesture and hope to his supporters and Ugandans that indeed he is in good health since he managed to walk long kilometers and made it to Namugongo.

However, Betty Nambooze who also joined other pilgrims for a mass, was accompanied by her husband, Henry Mukasa Bakireke.

The couple which appeared happy and so much in love wore brown; Nambooze was dressed in a brown gomesi while the husband was clad in a brown suit.

It was a surprise to many seeing Nambooze walking graceful without limping nor using a walking stick. She too looked healthy and cheerful.

She was so excited to having attended this year’s Uganda Martyrs day celebrations.

This shows that her health has kept on improving over time and maybe a leeway for her to run for the parliamentary seat again come 2026.

The health condition of the two legislatures is no longer alarming as it was perceived before by many. However, it remains unclear what exactly the two legislatures were suffering from, as various reports have indicated mixed reactions.
