UPC wants Uganda to Use Dialogue, Reconciliation to Combat Terrorism

Arach Oyat Sharon, the UPC spokesperson

The opposition Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party has asked the government to consider engaging in dialogue and reconciliation in a bid to counter escalating terrorism activities in the Rwenzori sub region.

Arach Oyat Sharon, the UPC spokesperson, made the appeal while addressing the media on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, at the party headquarters in Kampala.

“As a party, we call upon the government and all its security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all Ugandans. We urge the government to use dialogue and reconciliation to ensure stability,” said Ayat.

Early this week, UPDF authorities led by Commander Land Forces, Lieutenant General Kayanja Muhanga, traversed the Rwenzori sub region to mobilize local residents to join the fight against ADF terrorists.
