The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released a directive requiring all schools and examination centres to publicly display the 2025 candidates’ registration registers.
In a statement released on August 18, 2025, UNEB Executive Director, Dan N. Odongo, specified that the registers must be displayed from 10th August to 10th October 2025.
“The candidates’ registers should be displayed in a conspicuous place at the school or examination centre where the candidates are registered, and at district headquarters respectively,” he noted.
According to him, parents whose children study in schools without UNEB centre status should confirm the registration of their children to avoid last-minute surprises.
“In the event that a student, who has proof of payment of registration fees, is not registered, the parent should contact the school, and if they are not helped, they should report to UNEB immediately for remedial action,” Odong said.
UNEB has introduced a mobile SMS option, allowing parents and candidates to check registration by sending Reg. [Full Index Number] to 6600.
Heads of Centres, parents, and candidates are also expected to review the registers for accuracy, including the correct spelling of names, date of birth, gender, photographs, and subjects registered.
“Where there is a discrepancy in the biodata or photograph of a candidate, the centre should formally communicate to UNEB for correction within the stipulated period,” Odongo added.
With a little over a month left until the deadline, UNEB is calling on all concerned parties to act quickly to avoid any potential errors or confusion as the examination period approaches.
A total of 1,415,857 candidates have been registered for the forthcoming 2025 national examinations across all levels, according to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
