UMEME, the official electricity distributor in Uganda, has urged its clients to purchase enough Yaka units to avoid disruption during the system upgrade from Sunday, December 8, to Monday, December 9, 2024.
The planned system upgrade that will temporarily take its Yaka vending system offline was announced in a press release issued on December 6, 2024.
“Due to a planned system upgrade, the Yaka vending system will not be available from Sunday, 8th December 2024, to Monday, 9th December 2024, at 6 AM,” Umeme said in a statement.
“Customers are advised to purchase sufficient Yaka units to cover their electricity supply during the system downtime,” they added.
The company apologized for any inconvenience this may cause and assured customers that the upgrade is necessary to improve the overall system performance.
