The prestigious Uganda Golf Club Kitante will host the second edition of the Uganda-Kenya Coast Golf Tournament on Saturday, November 9, 2024, bringing together over 220 golfers from Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa with the aim of strengthening regional ties.

Beyond the sport, the event aims to promote golf tourism, driving economic growth and enhancing regional cooperation.

This was unveiled by Ambassador Paul Mukumbya, Uganda’s Consul General in Mombasa, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, on the Golf Course Kitante website, where he underscored the broader economic and diplomatic importance of the event.

He highlighted the complementary nature of the two countries’ tourism offerings, stating, “Kenya has stunning beaches, while Uganda offers majestic mountains and thrilling adventure experiences like trekking the Nile and chimpanzee watching. Together, we can offer unique and diverse tourism products.”

Derrick Muhumuza, the Uganda Golf Club’s Competitions and PR Director, expressed optimism for the future of the event.

“We expect the tournament to grow exponentially in the coming years, fostering even greater collaboration and tourism exchange between Uganda and Kenya,” he said.

Paul Charles Rukundo, the Captain of Uganda Golf Club, manifested his enthusiasm for the event, asserting, “We are thrilled to host this prestigious tournament and welcome golfers from across the region.”
