Premier Commissions UGX50B Building in Kampala

The Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja has commissioned the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets and Uganda Road Fund (PPDA-URF) towers in Nakasero, Kampala.

The 10 storey twin-tower building situated at Plot 39 Nakasero Road has been built at a cost of UGX50 Billion.

Nabbanja thanked PPDA-URF for the partnership that allowed them to build a structure for their headquarters, and urged the two entities to continue working together to improve various infrastructure in Uganda.

“I urge PPDA and URF to allocate resources to other critical areas to improve public procurement and road infrastructure, and implementing sustainable road maintenance and practices,” Nabbanja said.

The Premier pledged to have quarterly meetings with the Authority to help it fulfill on its mandate, in a bid to facilitate collaboration and promotion of effective procurement and disposal system.

She congratulated PPDA and URF for the amazing partnership that ensured the completion of the towers on time as per the set schedule which was three years.

PPDA is a government regulatory body established to provide oversight for public procurement and disposal of assets.

It also plays a big role in the implementation of government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM).
