Opposition MPs Face Scorching Attack as Museveni Shakes Greater Mubende

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has branded opposition MPs as disruptive, useless, and politically bankrupt.

Addressing a group of local journalists from the Greater Mubende sub region at the State Lodge, Mubende, on Thursday, 17th April 2025, Museveni said opposition MPs are disruptive nationally and useless locally. They are nothing and zero.”

Museveni strategically ripped into his rivals with political surgical precision, accusing them of sabotaging Uganda’s progress while hiding behind populist noise.

He painted opposition leaders as agents of chaos, obstructing government programs and misleading the youth.

Museveni blasted tribal politics, calling on Ugandans to embrace regional integration.

“Buganda can’t buy all your maize. Stop shouting, Buganda-Buganda! Think regionally and think prosperity,” Museveni emphasized.

He warned that clinging to narrow identities would strangle Uganda’s economic future, urging youth to join the movement for integration and expansion to create massive market access.

President Museveni also gifted the local journalists with Shs 100 million, a brand-new media van, and a motorbike valued at Shs 6 million to the journalists’ association.

Meanwhile, opposition MPs including Francis Zaake and Joyce Bagala were noticeably absent from Museveni’s tour, a move many are calling a tactical blunder.

“They’re hiding while Museveni is on the ground delivering. Who looks like the leader now?” one resident quipped.

Museveni kicked off his four-day PDM assessment tour of the region on Tuesday, 15th April, 2025, to drum up support for wealth creation.
