Mbuya Road Crash Leaves One Dead, Two Severely Injured 

On April 17, 2024, a head-on collision involving a truck and Subaru Forester along the Masaka-Kampala highway resulted in the deaths of three occupants in the Subaru. Preliminary reports suggested that reckless driving may have played a role, with drunk driving being a potential contributing factor.

One person has died on the spot while two others have been left nursing critical injuries in an accident that occurred in Mbuya, Nakawa division in Kampala.

The fatal accident, which happened on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in Mbuya Kinawataka, involved three victims who were traveling on a boda boda when they were knocked down by a speeding Volvo car.

Preliminary information indicates that the deceased was the boda boda rider who died on the spot while the two passengers he was carrying were left in a critical condition.

According to the eyewitnesses, after causing the accident, the driver disappeared, leaving the car behind.

During an interview with journalists, one of the locals identified as Meta Matovu revealed that the driver of the Volvo car was drunk driving when his car lost control and rammed into the victims.

Matovu added that the car veered off the road and went into the lane where the boda boda rider was, knocking him and the passengers he was carrying down.

’’The boda boda rider died on the spot; however, the two passengers he had on his motorcycle were badly injured, had broken legs and arms, and were bleeding profusely,’’ Matovu stated.

He added that police came and took away the body, and the damaged car was towed away.
