India Embassy in Tehran has issued a strong warning to it’s nationals and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) living in the war-torn city to immediately evacuate as Israeli drones and ballistic missiles waste lives and property.
This directive comes as the conflict between Israel and Iran intensified as they traded strikes on a fifth day.
The Embassy instructed all Indians ready with their own resources to move to safe locations outside the city.
In a post on X, formerly twitter, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Embassy requested the Indian nationals to keep in touch as they fled the city.
“All Indian Nationals who are in Tehran and not in touch with the Embassy are requested to contact the Embassy of India in Tehran immediately and provide their Location and Contact numbers,” it said.
US President Donald Trump on Sunday, June 15, 2025, urged Iran and Israel to “make a deal” and bring their deadly exchange of strikes to an end.
“Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal. Many calls and meetings now taking place on the issue and that peace could be achieved “soon” between the longtime adversaries,” Trump said on his Truth Social media platform.
Earlier, all Indian nationals and persons of Indian origin in Iran were requested to remain vigilant, avoid all unnecessary movements, follow the Embassy’s social media accounts and observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities.
