Four Democratic Party legislators who are against the administration of Justice and Constitutional Minister Norbert Mao as President General will soon be subjected to disciplinary action by the authority.

Mukasa Mbide, the DP Vice President, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, during a press briefing at the party headquarters in Kampala, described the legislators’ attacks against the top party leadership as indiscipline.

According to Mbide, the DP authority has asked legislators to stop the media war against the party leadership, adding that they have also embarked on the national consultation of district and sub-county party leaders to discuss the cooperation agreement with the NRM party.

He said that they are conducting consultations with the different district party leadership to discuss the cooperation agreement with the NRM party.

On Monday, July 24, 2023, the faction led by Dr. Michael Phillip Lulume Bayigga, Member of Parliament for Buikwe South, addressed a press conference at Parliament following a strongly worded President Museveni’s letter of congratulations to the Minister on Saturday during his “Homecoming” ceremony held at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City.

“The party is headed for a peace-building caravan in which we are engaging key stakeholders on the cooperation agreement with the ruling government,” said Mbide.

In his letter, President Museveni welcomed Minister Mao to the ruling National Resistance Movement.
