UPC Warns Against Use of “Leaked UNEB” Papers

UPC spokesperson Sharon Ayat Arach.

The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has called for strict public vigilance and reported suspect individuals involved in selling examination papers purporting to be from the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) to the police.

Speaking on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Uganda House, UPC spokesperson Sharon Ayat Arach disclosed that such individuals have often printed fake examination papers and used them to dupe parents, school administrators, and learners.

“UPC cautions the public and schools to avoid indulging in such engagement and instead report them to the authorities. Schools should concentrate on proper preparation and guidance of the candidates,” said Ayat.

UPC’s appeal comes at a time when learners are due to return for third term, while candidates at all levels are slated to sit for UNEB in a few weeks’ time.

“It is very important for both school authorities and parents to agree on the modalities of school fee payment to allow learners to concentrate,” said Ayat.

The Uganda National Examination Board released the timetable for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), and candidates are set to start examinations on October 13, 2023.
