Uganda has signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with Mozambique to remove visas and ordinary passports to enhance free movement of people of both countries.

According to John Mulimba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Uganda, the issues of agriculture and trade are critical to the well-being of the people of both countries.

“Our countries must work together to address food security, improve the ease of doing business, and enhance opportunities for our young people,” Mulimba said.

Mulimba made the remarks during the 2nd Session of the Uganda-Mozambique Joint Permanent Commission (JPC), held on Thursday, September 19, 2027, at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

The minister added that the MoU has marked another milestone in the long-standing and historic relations characterized by not only a rich history of brotherhood and solidarity but also driven by a common vision for peace, stability, and development in the region.
