Robert Nuwamanya Takes Over as Town Clerk of Ishaka Bushenyi

Robert Nuwamanya has officially taken over as the new Town Clerk of Ishaka Bushenyi, succeeding Mukobi Seleverio Byarufu, who has been transferred to Ntungamo Municipal Council.

The ceremony, which was attended by key leaders including Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Mayors from both Bushenyi and Rukungiri Municipal Councils, was marked by a sense of optimism and unity.

Nuwamanya, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the staff of Rukungiri Municipal Council, where he previously worked, and welcomed the warm reception from the staff and leadership of Ishaka Bushenyi.

“I am ready to serve with dedication and openness,” Nuwamanya said.

He also expressed his commitment to building on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor, Mukobi Seleverio Byarufu, combining continuity with new ideas to improve municipal services.

Outgoing Town Clerk Byarufu, who has served Ishaka Bushenyi for several years, commended the council’s staff for their professionalism and commitment.

“The new Town Clerk is stepping into an institution with clean records, efficient local revenue collection, and ongoing projects like the Uganda Cities and Municipal Infrastructure Development (UCMID) program,” Byarufu said.

He also highlighted that during his tenure, the municipality had achieved stability, with well-managed systems and motivated teams, ensuring a strong platform for Nuwamanya’s leadership.

Mayor Richard Byaruhanga officially welcomed Nuwamanya and pledged political support.

He urged the new Town Clerk to focus on service delivery and uphold integrity in his administration.

“The leadership will always be available to offer guidance and cooperation,” Byaruhanga said.
