President Museveni is set to resume his nationwide Parish Development Model (PDM) assessment tour with an initial visit to the Busoga sub region.
The Deputy Press Secretary, Faruk Kirunda during a media briefing on January 22, 2025 at State house announced that the tours will start on January 22 and conclude on January 25, 2025.
The President will visit Buwala Tolofisa, a PDM farmer in Namutumba; Mukasa Eliot, a PDM farmer in Luuka; and Kazibwe Micheal, a farmer in Jinja District.
He outlined the schedule for Thursday, January 23, 2025, noting that the President will engage in a live media interaction with journalists at Kityerera State Lodge at 10:00 AM, commission the Presidential Skilling Hub at Nakabango in Jinja City, address a public gathering at Lwanda Primary School, and later meet with Busoga Sub-Region leaders at the Mayuge district headquarters.
On Friday, January 24, 2025, the President will launch construction at Kimaka Airstrip, commission the Abyssinia Steel Factory in Jinja, and later address a public rally for the Busoga region at Kamuli Youth Center in Kamuli Municipality.
On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the President will commission the New Tembo Steel Factory in Iganga, address a large boda-boda rally at Iganga District Headquarters, and conclude the day with a national address at 8:00 PM from Nakasero State Lodge.
Kirunda confirmed that the purpose of the President’s visit is to assess progress and engage with local communities, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering development throughout the region.
