Entebbe Gov’t School Turns Classroom into Goats’ Shelter

Lake Victory Primary School, a government-aided learning institution in Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District, has turned a classroom into a shelter for rearing goats.

This has attracted bitterness from several social media fanatics and local leaders of the area, including the area legislator Michael Kakembo, who have continued to bash the school authority.

In his tweet on September 27, 2023, Entebbe Municipality MP Kakembo accused the school administration of negligence.

“The school authority is uncompromising and outright disrespectful to anyone with an alternative view about how the affairs of the school are run,” Kakembo said.

Jackline Kakunda, the RDC of Entebbe, told Nexus Media in an interview that goats being reared in classrooms belong to the school as an institution, not an individual, as alleged.

Kakunda says the goat rearing project was initiated with the goal of enhancing their financial muscle during COVID time.

“The goats reared on the school premises were given as a government project to improve the livelihood of the teachers, and the premises being used are empty at the moment and are not occupied by the students,” said RDC Kakunda.

RDC Kakunda bashed MP Kakembo for not establishing facts and politicizing the school project.

Lake Victoria Primary School in Entebbe, formerly the European Primary School, is one of the few surviving learning institutions established during the colonial administration.
