Candidates for the Dokolo Woman MP Seat Kick Off 6-Day Campaigns

Adongo Janet Rose Elau Okello, the NRM candidate, kicks off her 6-day campaign trail from Okwalongwen Sub County

A total of seven candidates vying to fill the position of Dokolo District Woman Parliamentary Representative in the ongoing by-election have kicked off campaigns.

The candidates include Adongo Janet Rose Elau Okello (NRM), Ageno Harriet (NUP), Aguti Sarah (UPC), Akullo Esther-Obot (Independent), Alwoc Austin Ogwal Rosemary (FDC), Arao Rebecca (Independent), and Lalam Grace Hanna (Independent).

Stephen Ngobi, the Dokolo district Electoral Commission returning officer, confirmed this development. He noted that the commission has not yet received any complaints, indicating that it is proceeding well.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Adongo Janet Rose Elau Okello, the NRM candidate, kicked off her 6-day campaign trail from Okwalongwen Sub County. Adong is expected to proceed to Bata Town Council and Bata Sub County to emphasize her message centred on unity, reconciliation, and socio-economic transformation.

Sarah Aguti Nyangkori, the UPC party candidate, launched her campaign on Wednesday from Amwoma Sub-county in the company of Jimmy Akena Obote, the chief campaign manager.

In her campaign, Nyangkori emphasized loyal services to her electorates once elected to parliament and pledged to prioritize commercial agriculture, education, health, and the social well-being of her people.

Voting for the Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 21st, 2024.
