ADF Commander put out of Action by Operation Shujaa Troops

Operation Shujaa troops on Thursday, June 22, 2023, put out of action ADF middle Commander only identified as Jebulire, and two others, recovering three rifles in Mwalika Valley of Virunga National Park.

According to the Deputy Spokesperson of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF), Col Deo Akiiki, the terrorist was apprehended at DRC’s bases of Eastern Congo in Mwalika Valley, an area within Virunga National Park, 30kms located North-eastern of Butembo.

“A young woman from Rwashamire Ntungamo known as Halima Nakiito and three children were rescued. They are currently in the care of UPDF. 3 guns were also recovered,” Col Akiiki said.

He assured concerned parties that Operation Shujaa together with UPDF have tightened operations in the DRC and along the borders.

“We shall fight tooth and nail to make sure that we hinder ADF from carrying out any other operations,” he added.

According to President Museveni, UPDF and FARDC has put out of action over 500 ADF terrorists in the last 2 years.
