PFF Accuses Museveni of Manipulating Anita Among to Invade Parliament

Lukwago referred to Among as “a creature of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni” who was kidnapped from the opposition ranks in order to work as a procurement agent to politicians defecting to Museveni’s camp.

The People’s Front for Freedom (PPF) has accused President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of masterminding the saga involving Annet Anita Among, the former Speaker of the 11th Parliament, in order to cripple parliament and pave way for his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s ascendancy to power.

The remarks were made by the Party President, Erias Lukwago, on May 18th, 2026, during a press conference at the PFF headquarters on Katonga Road in Kampala.

Lukwago referred to Among as “a creature of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni” who was kidnapped from the opposition ranks in order to work as a procurement agent to politicians defecting to Museveni’s camp.

According to Lukwago, the ongoing searches of Among’s property should not be viewed as an act of fighting corruption but a deliberate strategy by the regime to bring her down because she was starting to build her own empire and showing “village excitement” with her wealth.

He noted that Museveni had for a long time known about her conduct but he had been protecting and aiding her through state resources.

“The raid against Anita Among is an indictment on Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s government,” Lukwago said.

The leader of PFF warned that the matter would leave parliament devoid of morality hence becoming nothing more than an addition to State House.

He advised all thinking individuals especially the opposition MPs to oppose Oboth Oboth, a person he described as “test tube product” who is being prepared to become the next Speaker.

Lukwago stated that the directive from the first family to install Oboth Oboth exposes the succession agenda and the regime’s determination to sustain family rule.

The PFF leader urged Ugandans to protect the independence of parliament and resist all efforts aimed at entrenching dynastic politics900.

According to Lukwago, Ugandans should reject the narrative that Museveni has finally decided to fight corruption and instead pay attention to the wider threat of a managed transition that ignores the will of citizens.

He described the current developments as part of a broader plan to prepare Muhoozi for power and urged Ugandans not to be misled by the ongoing drama.
