Museveni Rallies Bugisu to Reject Politics of Lies, Focus on Wealth Creation

Museveni issued an on-spot directive to the Ministries of Education and Health to ensure that no sub-county should remain without a government secondary school.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Wednesday, 5th November, 2025 kicked off his campaign activities in Bugisu sub region where addressed thousands of supporters in Sironko District.

Museveni who is also the NRM party presidential candidate while addressing a rally at Sironko High School urged residents to aggressively pursue wealth creation and abandon what he termed politics of excitement without economic purpose.

Thousands of supporters thronged Sironko Town, chanting “Sevo! Sevo!” as the NRM presidential flag bearer took to the podium.

Museveni sharpened his messages saying Uganda now has peace, infrastructure, and government programs there households must create wealth.

“We have delivered peace, roads, and electricity. What remains is you entering the money economy. Politics without wealth is noise,” Museveni said to thunderous applause.

Museveni reprimanded leaders who mishandle or delay funds meant for Parish Development Model (PDM), warning that government will not tolerate frustrators of transformation.

Sironko has so far received over Shs 60 billion under PDM and Emyooga schemes. However, the President emphasized that the money should be invested in commercial agriculture specifically coffee, dairy farming, fruits, and poultry.

“This money is not a donation. It is seed capital. If you waste it, you remain poor,” Museveni stressed.

Residents testified that rural electrification has boosted trade and small-scale agro-processing.

In Bukedea Town Council, Museveni shifted from policy to nostalgia, recalling his early mobilization missions in Teso during the insurgency years.

“You suffered insecurity. Today, development has replaced bullets. This stability is your wealth, protect it,” Museveni said.

Across Sironko and Bukedea, Museveni projected one powerful theme:

“Politics of excitement does not bring money. Wealth creation does.”

As the crowd roared in approval, one thing became certain in Bugisu and Teso, the battle for 2026 is no longer about promises of roads and schools.
