Uganda’s music legend Jose Chameleone, real name Joseph Mayanja, has urged Ugandans to chase their dreams in life and work hard to ensure they are attained.

Chameleone was talking to revelers that attended the Rasta Massive (Rasmas) event hosted by designer Latif Kasumba Madoi, aimed at honoring fallen and living social and political personalities. The event happened on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Reggae Embassy Uganda headquarters located in Jokolera village on Kiti Road in Kawanda, Kasangati town council in Wakiso district.

“Make your dream come true. Work so hard to reach your goal. Latif asked himself how I reached here without calling him. We used to swim in these swamps. But look at me; I am a topic on social media. I am solid, glad they talk about me because I matter, people know me, and I chased my dream. I am as human as you; even if you blame me on camera, I still remain a brand. Very intelligent that my factory is in my home, where I do music, and vendors send it to countries like Zambia, Tanzania, Canada, and many others,” Chameleone said.

“Start where you can. Ask yourself, How do I start? You are in P.1 today; strive to go to P.2 by making a step today, October 18, 2024. Start! This Rasta asked me to come grace his event. I have made a stride by making it up to my brother, a Rastafarian,” Chameleone added.

The event attracted the future Ugandan models like Mitchelle Lucille Hall, Miss Toto Global 2024, who is also Miss Creative (2024), Mia Dorsa, First Runner Up Miss Toto Global 2024, also Miss Elegant (2024), and Shafiqah Maha Kivumbi (raising queen), little Miss Universe Uganda 2024.

While delivering his remarks, Madoi said that Rasmas is a foundation that is supposed to help people get out of poverty through colleges that have been built and where our former students become designers and teachers.

“When you come here, make sure that you borrow a leaf and learn something. We do not charge entrance, but please pay the tax to Rasmas by touching a heart. It is a vigil (rest in peace, Lucky Dube) reason we do not pay. Rasmas is a positive message. The best things in life are free. Rasmas is like the way government builds schools and roads,” Madoi said.
