Buganda Road Court has today, June 7, 2023, dismissed the incitement to violence case against Rt. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye due to lack of evidence presented by the prosecution.

He took to his Twitter handle and said, “The case of Incitement to Violence for which I was arrested and charged on 24th May 2022, was this morning dismissed for lack of prosecution.”

Besigye was accused of inciting the masses against the high prices of commodities in May 2022.

According to Besigye, the State has never brought any witnesses in this case for more than a year now. He also thanked his lawyers, Elias Lukwago and Musa Matovu, for fighting for him without giving up.
