Uganda Awarded Best Organizer Title at CITIE 2024

The accolade highlights Uganda’s growing influence on the global stage and its commitment to fostering valuable partnerships in the tourism sector.

The Consulate of the Republic of Uganda in Guangzhou has won the Best Organizer Award at the China International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE 2024), which ran from September 13-15, 2024, in China. The International Tourism Industry Expo was hosted by the Culture and Tourism Development and Support Center of Guangdong Province, China (Guangdong) at the China Export and Import Fair Complex, Guangzhou.

The award was presented to Judyth Nsababera, the Consul General of Uganda in Guangzhou-China, in recognition of their exceptional work in promoting Uganda’s tourism potential and strengthening international collaborations.

While receiving the award, Nsababera said that the accolade is a sign of Uganda’s commitment to excellence and fostering international relations in terms of tourism.

“The accolade underscores our commitment to excellence and its role in positioning Uganda as a premier destination for travelers and investors, solidifying its reputation on the international stage,” she said.

The accolade highlights Uganda’s growing influence on the global stage and its commitment to fostering valuable partnerships in the tourism sector.

The Ugandan Consulate was requested to co-organize next year’s Expo.

The  CITIE 2024, which is recognized as the largest comprehensive international tourism expo, covered an exhibition area of 40,000m, 100 destinations, 500 tourism service providers and suppliers from more than 50 countries and regions, and 43,000 visitors. It also facilitated the exploration of the tourism market in southern China, promoted high-quality recovery of the industry, and jointly created a new pattern for the world tourism economy.

The China International Tourism Industry Expo is organized once every year in September by the Guangzhou Cultural and Tourism Development and Promotion Centre, aimed at promoting regional and international tourism through business-to-business networking and direct engagement.
