Uganda Christian University (UCU) will represent Uganda at the 2024 FISU University World Cup 3×3 Basketball in Xiamen, China, from November 22-24, 2024.

Both the men’s and women’s teams from UCU have secured spots in the tournament among the 24 teams competing.

The tournament, hosted by Huaqiao University, is meant to bring together top university basketball teams from five continents.

UCU is endowed with a chance to participate in this tournament and will be in a position to field both the men’s and women’s teams, a clear indication of their strength in the game of basketball.

The UCU men’s team will play against universities like Nantes University (Brazil), Guangdong University (China), and Brazil’s UNIP.

As for the women’s team, they will verse universities like China’s Tsinghai University, Canada’s Carleton University, and Kenya’s USIU-Africa.

This year’s tournament games will take place every 25 minutes, and thus this explains the fast-paced schedule that is at stake.

Alongside the normal traditional matches, the spectators will not only enjoy watching the games but also have a chance to participate in shooting contests that will involve both men and women, and thus this explains how the tournament will be enjoyable and entertaining.

UCU’s participation in the FISU 3×3 World Cup not only represents a major achievement for Uganda but also offers UCU athletes an opportunity to manifest their talents to the globe.
