The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, has officially flagged off the Uganda parliamentary sports team as they set off for Mombasa, Kenya, to participate in the 14th East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games.
The games are set to take place in Mombasa, Kenya, from December 6 to 17, 2024, at the Mbaraki Sports Complex and Makande Social Hall in Mombasa.
The send-off ceremony was held at Parliament on December 4, 2024, with legislators and staff showing their support for the team ahead of their departure.
The team, which comprises footballers, volleyball players, and netball players, will compete with opponents from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, and South Sudan.
The team, which includes legislators across various positions, will represent the country in all sports fields, bringing together lawmakers from across the region.
Uganda’s parliamentary delegation is scheduled to arrive in Mombasa on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Some of the players headed for the games include Asuman Basalirwa. Muhamud Nsereko, Peter Ogwang, Moese Magogo, Daudi Kabanda, and Karim Masaba, to mention but a few.
