President Museveni will present 61 medals to notable public servants who performed exceptionally well throughout the G77+ China and Non-Aligned Movement Summit preparations in Kampala in January 2024.
Babirye Milly Babalanda, the minister for the presidency during a press conference at Uganda Media Center (UMC) on January 22, 2025 confirmed that these individuals will be awarded during the 39th NRM/NRA Victory Day Anniversary celebration.
According to Babalanda, the President found it prudent to award medals to those who committed their extra time and brains to make the summit successful in giving Uganda a global recognition.
“As a country, we received accolades because of our meticulous approach in organizing these two global summits,” Babalanda said.
The office of the President in conjunction with Bazungu e.v and Prince Kimbugwe Foundation has organised an Eye Care Medical Camp running from Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24, 2025 at Mubende Referral Regional Hospital.
The Minister assured the public that a total of 600 eye glasses will be given out free of charge and also conduct free eye surgeries to those in need.
NRM/ NRA Victory Day Anniversary celebrations will take place in Mubende district at National Teachers College Grounds, Mubende Town Council, under the theme “39 Years of NRM/A: Salutations to those who Re-sanctified our Homeland”
Uganda has witnessed socio-economic transformation indicators over the last 39 years, guided by the correct philosophy, ideology, and strategy of the NRM which enabled the economy and society of Uganda to go through five phases since 1986.
