Panic Grips Butambala Residents over Increasing Insecurity

Several cases of robbery, breaking into houses, and theft of motorcycles, among others, have been recorded in the recent weeks within Bulo village, Bulo Sub County, Butambala district.

Residents of Butambala district are living in fear following the increasing cases of insecurity in the area.

Vincent Kabali, the Butambala County Chief (Buganda Kingdom), has asked local security officials to intervene and curb the situation.

According to him, the increasing insecurity has continued to threaten the livelihood of local people.

He asked security agencies to beef up deployment in order to restore the safety of residents and their property.

Kabali made the appeal during an interview on Thursday, June 20, 2024, where he said that several groups of gangs have continued to terrorize shops and waylay residents at night.

He blamed the police for always releasing suspected members of the criminal gang in the area without being prosecuted.

“Our area now has many thieves, and it is now known that in Bulo Sub County, once you commit a crime, you can easily be released by the police,’’ Kabali revealed.
