FUFA Names New Standing and Special Committees for 2025–2027 Term, Taibu Azar Heads Admin Unit

Released in accordance with federation statutes on December 8th, 2025, the new committees span key areas of governance, competitions, technical development, finance, marketing, legal affairs, infrastructure, and specialized projects.

Taibu Azar will lead the Administration Committee

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced a comprehensive lineup of appointments to its standing and special committees for the 2025–2027 term, marking one of the most wide-ranging governance restructures in recent years.

The lineup comes at a time when Ugandan football is undergoing reforms aimed at professionalization, greater transparency, and wider stakeholder involvement.

Released in accordance with federation statutes on December 8th, 2025, the new committees span key areas of governance, competitions, technical development, finance, marketing, legal affairs, infrastructure, and specialized projects.

Key appointments include: Taibu Azar will lead the Administration Committee with Mpiima Samuel as vice chair. The Competitions Committee will be chaired by Nakiwala Florence Kiyingi, deputized by Latifu Mafuko. In women’s football, Mugena Agnes takes charge as chairperson, with Nkalubo Florence Bagunywa as vice chair.

Obote Dan has been named chair of the Technical Committee, while Kyambadde-Stone Ndibassa will serve as vice chair. The Marketing Committee will be steered by Byamukama Rogers, assisted by Musenze Faisal. In finance, Ariga Rasoul assumes chairmanship with Nakalema Rebecca Nsamba as vice chair. The Legal and Rules Committee will be chaired by Ojok Goffrey Odur, with Deo Kasozi serving as his deputy.

Other notable appointments include Mugerwa Jeremiah as chair of the FUFA Licensing Committee and Dr Ahimbisibwe Apollo as head of the Medical and Anti-Doping Committee.

FUFA also confirmed new leadership for its key facilities: FUFA Stadium–Kadiba will be managed by a committee chaired by Kalema Ronnie, FUFA Technical Centre–Njeru will fall under the leadership of Barente Ronald and FUFA Hotel Kisaasi will be overseen by a management committee led by Mutabazi Deo.

The federation stated that the committees’ mandates take effect immediately and are expected to bolster the operational efficiency and long-term development of football in Uganda.
