His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has issued a strong warning against attempts by detractors to exploit the current electioneering period to undermine the Kingdom of Buganda.
In a recorded speech for his 32nd Coronation Anniversary, Kabaka Mutebi expressed concern over how certain individuals and groups may seek to manipulate the election period for personal or political gain, potentially causing divisions within the Kingdom.
He called on the people of Buganda to stay vigilant and resolute in the face of these attempts.
“This electioneering period is one of the big loopholes exploited by the detractors of Buganda. I encourage all of you to stay firm and resolute, watch out for such people,” Kabaka Mutebi stated.
The King’s message showed the need for the Kingdom’s citizens to resist being swayed by those who attempt to distract them with empty promises or divisive tactics.
“We ask that you remain vigilant and resist any efforts by those who attempt to tarnish the Kingdom’s image through unlawful means, something we have witnessed repeatedly,” he stated.
The Kabaka expressed his gratitude to the people of Buganda for their continued support especially their role in sustaining the Kingdom through difficult times.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a collective sense of purpose and staying committed to the Kingdom’s progress, despite external pressures.
Kabaka Mutebi closed his speech by entrusting the Kingdom to God, reaffirming his commitment to leading Buganda through these challenging times with unwavering faith.
