Twiineamazima said the exhibits included hunting nets, spears, pangas, knives, unidentified roots and leaves, smoked and fresh suspected wild meat, three pairs of oribi horns, five bushbuck horns and porcupine quills.

“The President is of the view and has guided that we should not subject the pay of medical workers to tax the way it is done to the soldiers and other armed forces,” Baryomunsi said.

Gulu City authorities have welcomed the tournament, saying it will boost local business by increasing demand for accommodation, transport, and hospitality services during the two-week event.

For Nabakooba, protecting public land is not simply a government responsibility but a matter of protecting assets held on behalf of Ugandans. She called for greater public awareness to discourage people from viewing government land as an opportunity for personal gain.

“The housing mortgages available today are affordable for senior government officials and people with established businesses. We now want to plan for low-income earners like boda boda riders, market vendors and those starting from scratch,” Nabakooba said.

“Real estate and the law must work hand in hand. Building on a solid legal foundation is what allows investment to prosper and the sector to grow,” Nabakooba noted.

The MGAMIDJI Festival is one of the region's recognized cultural events and is registered with the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF).
