Orombi Urges Leaders to Emulate Humility, Serve the Marginalized

Archbishop Orombi's call to action serves as a timely reminder for leaders to align their actions with the values of humility and service, ensuring that the marginalized are not overlooked in the pursuit of progress.

During this year’s Uganda Martyrs’ Day celebrations at the Anglican Shrine in Namugongo, Archbishop Emeritus of the Church of Uganda, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Luke Orombi, delivered a poignant sermon urging leaders to emulate the humility and selflessness exemplified by the Uganda Martyrs.

Reflecting on the unwavering faith and commitment of the martyrs, Archbishop Orombi emphasized the importance of serving those living in poverty and marginalization.

He drew parallels between the martyrs’ sacrifices and the current challenges faced by vulnerable communities, urging leaders to prioritize their welfare and dignity.

“As we commemorate the lives of the martyrs, let us be reminded of their dedication to service and compassion. Leaders must not only serve the affluent but also reach out to the lowly and oppressed,” Archbishop Orombi stated.

The sermon resonated with many attendees, prompting reflections on the role of leadership in fostering social justice and equity.
