
Ugandan cultural artist and comedian Valentine Muhereza, popularly known as Kachaina Comedy, has been selected to lead Uganda’s cultural delegation to the 13th edition of the MGAMIDJI Festival 2026 in Comoros.
Muhereza will head a 16-member delegation that will represent Uganda at the international cultural festival scheduled to take place from October 12th to 18th, 2026, in Mbeni City, Comoros.
The delegation is expected to present cultural expressions including Ekitaguriro, Ekinyankole, Eshagama, Engoma, and Ebyevugo, highlighting the country’s diverse traditions and artistic identity.
Uganda’s participation is aimed at promoting its cultural heritage on the international stage while strengthening cultural exchange with other participating countries.
The MGAMIDJI Festival is one of the region’s recognized cultural events and is registered with the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF).
The festival is supported by the Government of Comoros and brings together cultural groups from different countries to celebrate and preserve traditional arts and folklore.
