The Nsasa village Aspirant Salongo Derrick Lukwago has urged Kiira residents to turn out in big numbers and vote as LCI chairperson elections nearsby.
While addressing supporters in Bulindo town in Kiira Municipality Wakiso district on Sunday, July 26th, 2026, Lukwago asked residents to turn up in big numbers and vote for their local council I chairperson who will bring development to the area.
“On Tuesday please turn up and line up behind your preferred candidate and this time lets not just vote political parties but lets vote for leaders who have been tried and tested and those with ability to work and offer services,” Lukwago said.
Lukwago also asked residents to forgive for the past mistakes and reconcile and work together in the coming five years for a better Nsasa community.
“I have served you for the last 25 years I know some things might have not gone right and am here asking all residents to put our differences aside, forgive each other and move forward and I promise you this will be the last term as your chairman and I pledge to serve you with my team and make sure we develop our area together,” Lukwago added.
The Nsasa community village vice chairperson, Margaret Nabaweesi said that in the past Nsasa village has had a few issues of insecurity but now all that is history due to a new approach of community policing.
“In the past we used to have issues with insecurity in Kiira but now we have formed small vigilant groups in our different communities with whatsapp groups to keep updated on any issues arising from the community and this has greatly improved awareness and vigilantism in our community thus greatly improving on our security,” Nabaweesi said.
Jimmy Lukwago also a resident of Kiira Municipality promised residents an Ambulamce and to revive the Kiira football club that was once a big uniting factor for the people of Kiira.
“You all know I do support National Unity platform but for the people of Kiira you are all my people regardless of the political affiliation and this time I promise to offer my people an ambulance and will revive our football team of Kiira Municipality because I know we still have young talent and this team used to unit us all,” Lukwago noted.
As LCI campaigns end this Monday, July 27th, 2026, the government of Uganda has declared that Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, be a national public holiday to enable all Ugandans to go to their respective LCI villages and vote for their Local council I chairpersons.
