SUganda’s She Cranes has produced a dominant display to defeat Trinidad and Tobago 80-34 in their second match of the 2026 Commonwealth Games netball competition, maintaining their unbeaten start to the tournament.
The comprehensive victory came on Sunday, July 26th, 2026, at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow, just 24 hours after Uganda battled to a hard-fought win over Wales, with the encounter proving a far more comfortable outing for the East African side.
The She Cranes took control from the opening whistle, showcasing clinical shooting, quick ball movement, and disciplined defending to race into a commanding 40-19 halftime lead.
Uganda continued to dictate proceedings after the break, stretching their advantage in the third quarter before comfortably closing out the match with an emphatic 80-34 victory. The result strengthens Uganda’s position in the competition and provides a significant confidence boost ahead of a much tougher test against Jamaica.
The She Cranes will return to action on Monday, July 27th, when they face Jamaica in one of the tournament’s most anticipated fixtures. The match is scheduled to tip off at 9:00 p.m. East African Time (7:00 p.m. UK time).
Jamaica, one of the world’s leading netball nations, is expected to provide Uganda with its sternest challenge yet as both teams seek to strengthen their chances of progressing in the competition.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games officially opened on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, with a colorful opening ceremony at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The Games will run until August 2nd, bringing together athletes from all 74 Commonwealth Games Associations.
