A joint operation in Bombo targeting vandalism and theft of electricity infrastructure led to the identification and arrest of two suspects, Kamoga Godfrey of Bajjo Kisingiri Village and Kasaga Geoffrey of Namaliga West Village, both former UMEME employees.

According to Sam Twiineamazima, spokesperson for the Savanana Region, during the operation, which began around 7:30 AM on November 14th, the suspects cooperated with enforcement officers to locate several storage sites in Nkokonjeru and Bajjo.
“At these sites, investigators recovered substantial stolen electrical materials, including two rolls of bare conductors, five rolls of three-phase ABC wires, small single-phase ABC cables, pliers, and various other electrical connection tools,” he stated.
He said that the suspects and the recovered items have since been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) Headquarters for further investigation and appropriate legal processing.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to curbing electricity infrastructure vandalism and ensuring a reliable power supply for communities.
