Ugandans are gearing up for the “Yoga Yoga Jajja Election Victory Celebration”, a full-day extravaganza to mark President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s electoral win, set for March 13 at Kololo Independence Grounds.

The announcement was made on Tuesday March 10th, during a press briefing by Hajjat Amina Mukalazi, the head of State House Local Content Unit. She said this will not just be a party for the president, it’s a celebration for Ugandans, with Museveni merely attending as the “chief guest of fun.”

She also boasted that the election recorded Museveni’s highest vote percentage since 1986, a statistic sure to be celebrated with dance moves as spirited as the votes themselves.

The event promises something for everyone including grassroots mobilizers, informal workers, campaign musicians, and even East African guests.

Mukalazi said attendees will enjoy live performances, music, food, drinks, dancing, and, of course, the occasional political pep talk.

Senior government leaders, including the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Parliament, are also expected to attend, ensuring politics will mix seamlessly with the party vibes.

Mukalazi framed the victory as a collective Ugandan achievement, encouraging citizens to keep supporting government programs while speaking out against corruption, injustice, and tribalism, because even at a party, civic duty matters.

The briefing ended with a prayer and a call for all Ugandans to turn up in numbers big enough to match the beats of the music, promising a day where politics, pride, and celebration collide in full “Yoga Yoga” style.
