Uganda Wildlife Authority Set to Commemorate World Ranger Day

Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is set to celebrate World Ranger Day on July 31, 2023.

World Ranger Day is celebrated worldwide each year on July 31st to commemorate Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work Rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage.

According to UWA, the game rangers are brave men and women on the conservation frontline who are protecting wildlife.

Bahinduka Mugarra Martin, the State Minister for Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, said game rangers play critical roles and duties in promoting wild life conservation across the country.

Recently, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni passed out some 855 Uganda Wildlife Rangers who had completed basic military training at Kaweweta recruit training school.
