The Ministry of Interior Qatar has announced a comprehensive ban on the use, operation, or launch of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) of all types, sizes, and technologies across all areas of the State.

The decision, which takes effect immediately, applies to all individuals and entities, including citizens, residents, visitors, government and semi-government bodies, companies, and institutions, until further notice.

In its statement released on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, the ministry explained that any attempt to use, operate, or facilitate the flight of such aircraft constitutes a clear violation of the directive and will lead to legal consequences in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

“Any use attempted operation or facilitation of such aircraft constitutes a clear violation and will result in legal accountability and the necessary measures in accordance with applicable legislation,” Qatar said.

The Ministry urged the public to strictly adhere to official instructions issued by competent authorities.

However, it also underscored the importance of remaining indoors and limiting movement to essential cases only, including other measures all aimed at safeguarding public safety.

Officials reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining national security and public order, calling for full cooperation and compliance from all segments of society.
