Minister Musasizi Highlights Uganda’s Transformation through Industrial Parks

The Minister of State for General Duties, Henry Musasizi, has highlighted the establishment of 23 regional industrial and business parks across the country as a crucial pillar for socio-economic development.

While briefing the Parliament Committee on Government Assurances on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Musasizi said the initiative is part of Uganda’s broader strategy to enhance industrial transformation and a crucial pillar for the nation’s socio-economic development.

In his submissions, Musasizi emphasized the government’s commitment to creating jobs and generating wealth through industrialization.

“The establishment of these parks is a priority for the Ugandan government, aimed at fostering economic growth and improving the livelihoods of citizens,” Musasizi noted.

He further stated that the parks are vital to boosting local industries, attracting investment, and enhancing productivity across various sectors.

The minister’s remarks underscore the government’s proactive approach to harnessing industrialization as a means to drive economic progress and ensure sustainable development in Uganda.

Currently, Uganda boasts nine operational industrial and business parks, covering approximately 5,620 acres and hosting 241 active enterprises.
