Kyagulanyi Takes Campaign to Butebo district, Promises Improved Service Delivery

The National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi has officially embarked on Eastern Region campaign tour with a rally in Butebo district drawing a large crowd.

Before heading to the Eastern Region, Robert Kyagulanyi had been campaigning in Busoga region. This leg of his campaign focused on youth empowerment, fighting corruption, and improving access to education and healthcare.

Kyagulanyi, speaking at the gathering on October, 13,2025 vowed to support the people of Butebo with better service delivery once he assumed power as President.

“We lose 20 trillion every year in corruption and this money if saved could build roads, hospitals, pay striking teachers and also provide other key services like affordable electricity and piped water,” Kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi also promised the people of Butebo that his government will return the people to swamps to farm and continue earning a living.

“I want to promise you that you will continue farming in your wetlands and my government will only help to guide on how to do that,” Kyagulanyi added.

Daisy Arutun, a resident of Butebo said that residents and surrounding districts survive on rice farming which can only be grown in wetlands, pledging her support to Kyagulanyi.

“We are all rice farmers and we need a government that will help us to keep our rice fields and not chase us out of our swamps,” Arutun said.

Kyagulanyi who is campaigning in Eastern Region will be in Butebo, Budaka, Butaleja, Busia, Tororo, kibuku, manafwa and Namisindwa districts as he starts his third week of election campaign ahead of the 2026 general elections.
